For water treatment

PDMDAAC (Other name: Polydadmac; PDADMAC, Poly(Dimethyl diallyl ammonium Chloride) ), As a water treatment agent, PDMDAAC is involved in almost all fields of industrial wastewater, domestic sewage and drinking water treatment.

The copolymer of DMDAAC and vinyltrimethoxysilane can be used to flocculate the pulp of paper mill pulp, remove ink in waste water, and remove turbidity and decolorization of paper mill waste water. It can also effectively remove fat, blood, tissue and other substances in food processing wastewater, and can remove waste oil in industrial oily wastewater.

PDMDAAC not only acts as a flocculant, but also as a fungicide. When the dosage of PDMDAAC is more than 20 mg/L, it has a significant inhibitory effect on the growth of Escherichia coli. Copolymers of DMDAAC and SO2 can be used as algaecides.

For oil extraction

PDMDAAC are used in the oil exploration industry, including as clay stabilizers, acid fracturing cationic modifiers in water injection, mud treatment agents, treatment agents for oily wastewater, anti-scaling agents, acidizing fluid additives, and plugging fluids.

For papermaking

PDMDAACs are also widely used in papermaking. Through the adsorption between the polymer and the negatively charged pulp, the purpose of white water recovery, filler retention and improvement of the strength of the paper can be achieved; the antistatic performance of the paper can also be improved. The amphoteric polyelectrolyte obtained by the terpolymerization of DMDAAC and acrylamide, acrylonitrile or acrylic acid can be used as a dry strengthening additive for papermaking.

PDMDAAC is also an excellent raw material for preparing conductive film, and the paper with this conductive film on the surface can be used for electrographic analysis.

In the process of papermaking, it is used as an anionic waste scavenger and AKD curing accelerator;

For mining

P(DMDAAC/AM) can be used to treat aqueous slurries and to separate suspended solids from coal mine wastewater.

The copolymer of DMDAAC and vinyltrimethoxysilane can be used for dewatering of coal tailings, copper ore and iron ore slurry.

Other applications

DMDAAC and SO2 copolymers can be used for dye leveling, retention and fabric treatment.

PDMDAAC is a cationic surfactant and is widely used in the daily chemical industry, especially as an additive in shampoo, which can make hair soft, shiny, and easy to comb.

Solid-state PDMDAAC can be used as solid electrolyte and ion-exchange chromatography column material, and can also be used to manufacture electrochemical sensors.

Used as an aldehyde-free fixative in the textile industry.
